My luck over the past three months has not been that great. I am over $500.00 dollars in the hole for speakers that I bought from eD that I do not have. Well the SX subs have arrived around 5:30 pm. I installed the subs and gave it a test run. I played it kind of low because of my neighbors, so I heard maybe 30 seconds of louder than half volume. I left my house and I was hearing a noise that sounded like "engine noise." I did not get a mile from home when the noise sounded like it was full volume. Turning the sub level and the volume down did nothing, I had to turn off the deck to stop the noise. I narrowed the problem to one of the eD amps. When I plug the RCA's in that one amp it starts to make that MOTOR NOISE sound through the subs and this was with the engine off. I changed RCA's and even disconnected the other amps still the same problem from that one amp. I even disconnected the sub from the amp that was causing the problem and the noise was still there. Well seconds later the magic smoke came out of that one amp.
I hope that I did not cause any damage to the new subs. Tomorrow I will run one amp one each pair to check the subs. I will now start to consider other amps for my new subs. I will have the damaged one repaired and I will consider placing them for sale.

That sucks man. Sorry to hear that. We have a technician that works for us at David's that repairs amps, also I know another guy in prairieville who does good work. I dont know if you have warranty or not, but if not, then we can get them fixed locally. I could probably take the bottom off and tell you about how much it will cost to fix if you want to do that and take some pics I could give ya a rough estimate, I'll need to get the part numbers off the FETS and anything else that may be burnt. Get a voltmeter and check the coils on the sub that was connected to that amp. I'm confident that it is ok but check it anyway. Are you going to Shreveport this weekend? If so call me this afternoon anytime after 2 and maybe we can meet somewhere along the way. Paul and I are going. My amps came in today, now I just gotta get it in the car tonight and I'll be ready.
