Petition Drafted by Matt Sibley
To Whom It May Concern:
The USACi members signed or listed below, referred to as “We”, hereby petition the USACi organization for a formal change of the current Outlaw SPL rules in the Modified Division. The current rules in this class state:
“No modifications will be allowed to the exterior of the vehicle and all portions of the system must remain inside the vehicle. Inside the vehicle is defined as inside of the factory body lines, roof, and floorboard.”
We feel it is in the best interest of USACi and its competitors to change this rule. In the past floor cuts have either been allowed or overlooked by the USACi organization. As a result several USACi competitors have cut or modified the floor behind the B-Pillar in their respective vehicles. Past winners of the World Finals have been allowed these cuts. In order to uphold the integrity of the organization and keep a level playing field, we ask that all future Modified competitors be allowed this same opportunity. Allowing these cuts will also insure a stronger turnout at USACi events because competitors who have already cut their vehicles would still be allowed to compete.
We believe that changing the rule would not only benefit the competitors, but the USACi organization in its entirety. We petition that the rule be changed to the following:
“No modifications forward of the B-pillar will be allowed. No modifications to the exterior of the vehicle will be allowed and all portions of the system must remain inside the vehicle with the following exception: The floor behind the B-pillar may be cut, modified, and/or lowered in order to facilitate the audio system. This includes cutting for enclosure space or battery racks as long as the modifications are behind the B-Pillar. Chop tops, stretching, raising the roof(other than commercially available camper shells for pickup trucks) and any other modifications to change the interior volume of the vehicle will not be allowed. The floor behind the B-Pillar is the only part that may be modified. Exception: Pickup trucks with the rear of the cab and/or front of bed cutout in order to allow speaker or enclosure placement in the bed are allowed in the modified division.”
We ask that USACi and its Rules and Ethics Board consider these changes and implement them promptly in order to maintain its members, integrity, and fairness. The following pages contain names, contact information, and member numbers of USACi’s members who are for this change. We thank you for your consideration and look forward to supporting USACi.
Sincerely,
USACi Members for Change
